OZONE
1. WHAT IS AQUEOUS OZONE (AO)? Ozone is a naturally occurring molecule made up of three oxygen atoms. In nature, ozone is formed mainly by sunlight or lightning, which causes an ordinary oxygen molecule (O2) to join with an unstable oxygen atom through corona discharge, electrolysis or ultraviolet radiation, becoming ozone (O3). Ozone comes in two forms – gaseous (as a gas) and aqueous (in water). It occurs in nature, but can also be synthesized/man-made – like we do at Enozo Technologies, Inc. Enozo creates aqueous ozone to sanitize, deodorize and clean. All Enozo products use aqueous ozone. |
2. IS OZONE SAFE? Aqueous ozone (AO) is generally regarded as safe (GRAS) by the FDA and is recognized as safe and highly effective by the National Sanitation Foundation. Enozo is also EPA established and Green Seal Certified. Working as a sanitizer, deodorizer and cleaner, it contains no additives, fragrances or dyes. This means that there is nothing added to the solution that may cause skin, eye or respiratory irritation. AO is a biodegradable substance that does not leave behind any residues that would attract dirt into your facility or home. Since AO replaces various cleaners like glass, stainless steel and other multi-purpose cleaners, our Enozo products help reduce both the synthetic chemicals used for cleaning as well as the number of plastic bottles purchased. |
3. IS ENOZO AQUEOUS OZONE STABILIZED? No. Enozo makes ozone on-demand and therefore it does not need to be stabilized. Typically stabilizing the ozone is used for devices that make aqueous ozone in advance of it’s use. |
4. HOW IS OZONE CAPABLE OF SANITIZING, DEODORIZING AND CLEANING? By nature, ozone is a powerful oxidizing agent, meaning it can cause chemical changes through oxygen. When ozone encounters soils, pathogens and microbes that cause odors or illness, it reacts with them and changes their characteristics. AO adds oxygen to odorants to remove their smell and attacks bacterial cell walls, killing the pathogens completely. The killing process of oxidation with ozone does not contribute to antibiotic resistance. |
5. WHAT DOES OZONE SMELL LIKE? |
6. WHAT PATHOGENS IS OZONE CAPABLE OF KILLING? Ozone can reduce the level of some of the of the most common pathogens by at least 99.9% in just 30 seconds compared to other multi-purpose cleaners. Examples of some common pathogens ozone can kill include:

7. HOW IS OZONE CURRENTLY BEING USED AS A SANITIZER IN DIFFERENT INDUSTRIES? MUNICIPAL WATER PLANTS & BOTTLED WATER INDUSTRIES: TREATMENT, STORAGE & FOOD PROCESSING OF FOODS: PUBLIC AND PERSONAL SWIMMING POOL TREATMENTS: |
8. DOES ENOZO SPRAY BOTTLE KILL SARS-COV-2, THE VIRUS THAT CAUSES COVID-19? We are pleased to inform you that our Aqueous Ozone Sanitizing Spray Bottle [1] has achieved a 99.9% virus reduction within 30 seconds against the commercial testing surrogate for Human Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes the CoVid-19 disease). The Enozo Spray Bottle was tested against surrogate 229E/ATCC VR-740 [2] on hard non-porous surfaces using scientifically recognized testing methods.[3] Please note that the Enozo Aqueous Ozone Spray Bottle is categorized as a pesticidal device within the EPA classification structure. The EPA does not routinely include pesticidal devices in its review and therefore EPA has not confirmed whether, or under what circumstances, such products might be effective against the spread of COVID-19. Also, this explains why the Enozo sanitizing spray bottle does not qualify for listing with the chemical pesticidal formulations reviewed by EPA and included in EPA List N of disinfectants [4]. [1] Enozo Aqueous Ozone Spray Bottle is also branded by O3waterworks™ for U.S. consumer market DISCLAIMER: The Enozo Aqueous Ozone Spray Bottle (also branded O3waterworks™) is classified as a pesticidal device under the EPA regulations. It has demonstrated effectiveness against viruses similar to SARS-CoV-2 (the virus causing COVID-19) on hard non-porous surfaces employing test methods recognized as scientifically valid in the field. However, it is important to note that unlike chemical pesticides, EPA does not routinely review the safety or efficacy of pesticidal devices, and therefore cannot confirm whether, or under what circumstances, such products might be effective against the spread of COVID-19. |

9. HOW DOES THE ENOZOPRO SPRAY BOTTLE WORK? |
10. DOES THE ENOZOPRO SPRAY BOTTLE PRODUCE SAFE AMOUNTS OF OZONE? Yes, it produces ozone amounts that meet OSHA’s safety standards. |
11. HOW LONG IS THE OZONE ACTIVE ONCE SPRAYED? Ozone sprayed from the bottle is active for 5 minutes. Ozone (O3) is a very biodegradable molecule. Once it is done cleaning contaminants and killing pathogens, it reverts back to oxygen (O2) and water. Every time you pull the trigger, ozone is created on demand, and the five-minute clock starts. |
12. WHY IS ENOZO BETTER THAN OTHER SANITIZERS, DEODORIZERS AND MULTI-PURPOSE CLEANERS? Enozo uses only one ingredient – normal tap water. The Enozo spray bottle takes tap water to make aqueous ozone that will do more than one thing on more than one surface. Unlike most sanitizers, deodorizes and cleaners, our spray bottle doesn’t use harmful chemicals, dyes, or perfumes. Many ingredients used in typical multi-purpose cleaners are known allergens and can cause irritation of the skin, eyes and respiratory systems, or even asthma. Even some cleaning products that are marketed as “green” or “natural” may have harmful ingredients in their fragrances and dyes. That’s because current regulations do not require manufacturers to list all ingredients on the labels. |
13. ON WHAT SURFACES IS ENOZO EFFECTIVE? The Enozo spray bottle can be used to sanitize, deodorize and clean hard non-porous surface such as:
|
14. HAS ENOZOPRO BEEN TESTED BY AN INDEPENDENT THIRD PARTY? Yes, please see independent third party testing here: Toxcel Toxicology and Regulatory Affairs Report |
PRODUCT USE
15. HOW DO I KNOW MY ENOZO SPRAY BOTTLE IS PRODUCING OZONE? There are two LED lights on the head of the bottle. A blue checkmark will light up when you pull the trigger. This indicates your bottle is working and producing ozone. |
16. HOW DO I KNOW WHEN THE BOTTLE NEEDS TO BE CHARGED? The bottle will stop spraying and the red ‘X’ will flash three times when the bottle needs to be recharged. A single red ‘X’ will flash when the trigger is released to indicate the battery is low and that recharging will be needed soon. |
17. HOW LONG WILL THE BOTTLE LAST ON ONE-SINGLE CHARGE? The EnozoPRO bottle typically lasts up to 10 reservoir refills. The EnozoHOME bottle (sold outside of the US) typically lasts up to 3 reservoir refills. |
18. HOW LONG SHOULD I CHARGE THE BOTTLE FOR? The LED on the charger will stay red while the bottle is charging. The LED turns green when the bottle is fully charged. A full recharge typically takes about 2 – 3 hours. |
19. SHOULD I ONLY USE TAP WATER? Yes, only normal tap water should be used. You should never add anything to the water in the reservoir. Adding things like essential oils and other chemicals can interfere with the creation of ozone and damage the internal hardware of the bottle. |
20. WHAT TEMPERATURE SHOULD TAP WATER BE WHEN I FILL THE BOTTLE? The water used should be room temperature (direct from the tap). |
